Introduction:

Ok, full disclaimer…as I’m writing this, I’m indulging in this fresh squeezed margarita!  Garey is giving the boys a bath after I just wrestled them during buzz cuts…so margarita earned!  Convenient timing, as I just bought a full bag of limes from Sam’s Club.  Thus, I see many of these bad boys in my (near) future.

To make these, you will first need to make a simple syrup by adding equal parts of sugar and water in a sauce pan, heating on low, and stirring until dissolved – about 1 minute.  I did a 1/4 c. of each just before making 2 margaritas tonight…though I think I have enough for 1 more.  čÖé

Note that the recipe below makes 1 margarita.

  • Salt or sugar (optional)

Operating Procedures:

With your reamer, squeeze the juice of a lime into a shaker filled with ice.  Add liqueur, syrup, and tequila.  Shake, shake, shake.  Rub the squeezed lime around the rim of the glass and dip in salt or sugar, if so desired.  Pour entire contents into a margarita glass and enjoy!

Closing Remarks:

Alter your ratios as desired for a little less punch or a sweeter drink!  Perfectly light and refreshing!
